About 1340 UTC, May 3rd, the Volvo Ocean Race fleet of six racing sailboats (lower right in thumbnail) entered the infamous Bermuda Triangle where many ships and planes have mysteriously vanished. The Bermuda Triangle stretches from Miami, Florida, to the island of Bermuda to San Juan in Puerto Rico. Bermuda Triangle incidents include the loss of Flight 19, 5 December 1945--five US Navy TBF Avengers lost with 14 airmen, and later the same day a PBM Mariner lost with 13 airmen while searching for Flight 19 (see Wikipedia for full listing of all sea and air incidents).
