Pedal to the metal all the way to Les Sables d'Olonne: Less than 100 miles apart at 18:00 UTC on Jan. 15, Alex Thomson on HUGO BOSS, in second, is putting pressure on Armel Le Cléac'h on BANQUE POPULAIRE VIII who is still leading. In the intense conditions Thompson likes, the Brit is gaining miles on the Breton. Near the the Azores, the two leaders are engaged in a race of speed on starboard tack, at more than 20 knots (24 knots for Alex at the tally of 15h!). ETA to the finish line near Les Sables d'Olonne, France, is now Thursday, January 19.
