By Kate Laven, Sanya, China In an unprecedented move which has the backing of most of the Volvo Ocean Race teams, race management scrutinized weather models and decided the conditions around the Luzon Strait between the Philippines and Taiwan will be too dangerous for the six boats and their professional crews to venture into. So the fleet will do a short 40 mile race in Sanya Bay then return to the dock where they will be held until the conditions are deemed safe enough for departure....
